St James Advice Centre

For more than thirty years, a range of advice services have been provided at St James for members of the local community. From May 2011, this role has been undertaken by the St James Advice Centre under the umbrella of CAN DO 4:13. The Centre operates from its office in St James Church. It has a proud tradition of helping those in need of advice, reassurance, and assistance. Our advisors, together with the support staff and volunteers, handle hundreds of cases each month, giving advice mainly on welfare benefits, debt, immigration, and housing issues.
The opening hours are from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm from Monday to Friday. A drop-in session is available on Wednesdays from 12.30 pm to 2.00 pm when clients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. At other times, clients are seen by appointment.
